Pool Water Level
The pool will lose water as a natural function of evaporation. Depending upon conditions, it may lose as much as 1" or more per week if there is no rain or during cool winter months. This does not include any water loss due to splashing, or water added due to rain. You will likely have to add water to the pool during your stay. Use the hose by the pool equipment to fill the pool as needed. Use the timer and be sure to open and close the red water valve to prevent leaks.
IMPORTANT - If you hear the pool pump 'cycling', or see bubbles coming out of the pool jets, or the fountain is not working, you will have to add water or the pool heater will not work.
Pool Heating
The pool is equipped with a electric heat pump. The heater is set to warm the water to 84-85F under normal weather conditions.
Using the Home Thermostat
There are TWO thermostats than can be adjusted to your taste. The normal condition is
System=Automatic,
Fan = Automatic
Mode= Heat or Cool

You can adjust the temperature by pushing the arrows up or down. When using Air Conditioning, the normal setting is 79 or 80. When using heat, the temperature is usually 70.
Many times the system does not have to be on at all. Just open the doors and windows and enjoy the wonderful Florida weather.
Everyone wants to save energy. Every room has a ceiling fan. You can become comfortable by using the ceiling fans rather than lowering or raising the temperature in the whole house.
No-See-Em's and mosquitos
This home is on a lake in Florida. As a result, depending on temperature and humidity conditions you may find tiny flies floating at the top of the pool some mornings. There is nothing to stop them when they are present, they find their way through the smallest screen. The pool filter will clear most of them out once the pump starts in the morning. We provided a white net and pole if you don't want to wait for the skimmer to do its thing. Just scoop them up and shake them out in the lawn. Careful not to poke a hole in the screen with the pole! The pool service brushes and vacuums. Do not be alarmed to see a pool service technician.
Pool Baby Fence
It is a great safety feature. It must be up and functioning when children are present or expected. The poles are marked with numbers for easy setup. There are extra holes to allow only sections to be opened for quick access. Again, all sections should be in place at all times when children are present.
Never allow children in the pools or spa unattended- even for a MINUTE. Read the notice on the pool fence for pool rules.
Patio Screen Doors
Do not lock the patio screen doors. Technicians need access to the screen enclosure.
Grilling
We have an Infrared Grill for your use. When using the grill;
1) remove the vinyl cover
2) Always grill outside the screen enclosure.
3) Turn ON the propane to the grill at the valve on the propane bottle.
4) Follow the lighting instructions, and grilling tips found in the grill manual.

Please clean the grill grates and the infrared pan after you use it. Do not use wire bristles on the grates and pan. Use the AutoClean setting on the grill when your food is cooked. 10 minutes on "Clean" is all you need. I use my cell phone timer to remind me to turn it off. it goes over 600 degrees.
Be sure to turn off the valve on the propane tank when you are finished.
